You are Appointed for Such a Time as This!

by

The angel of Adonai appeared to him and said to him:

“You valiant hero! Adonai is with you!”

“Excuse me, sir,” answered Gid‘on, “but if Adonai is with us, then why is all this happening to us? Judges 6:12-13a

What is going on? Never before in history has something of this magnitude happened. The whole world is affected.

The virus will pass, but it will leave lasting economic effects for our country and humanity as a whole. How do we proceed from here?

We are at war, and it is not all in the physical realm. There is something very significant going on in the spiritual realm. It is time for you to seek the Father and ask Him what He wants you to do. You have been appointed for this time. We are the light in a dark time, and it may get darker.

When G-d appoints you, He will equip you for the task at hand. The abilities G-d gave you will magnify His glorify, not yours. Our country has been in a dark place. Hedonism has been rampant in society. Our president and his cabinet are in prayer and fighting hard. It is time to reboot. G-d is sending a message and we are the messengers. Our country needs G-d.

Stand firm and have courage. Do not let fear enter your sphere. Fear is NOT from G-d. It is from the enemy. Faith erases all fear! When fear knocks on the door, let faith answer. Faith will not let fear cross the threshold and enter your domain!

When our faith connects with G-d, we find ourselves motivated with the appointed task. We can contend the enemy’s stronghold with focus, determined to win the battle. We will not stay hidden but will step out of our hiding place. It is time to blast the trumpet. It is time for G-d’s people to be known!

What’s holding you back?

What is preventing you from your appointment by G-d?

  • Panic
  • Worry
  • Despair
  • Anxiety
  • A heart filled with terror and fear
  • Doubt
  • Faintheartedness
  • Worry

It is not the time to be hiding….

It is not the time for despair, anxiety, or fear. Do not be burdened with what is going on in the natural. Seek G-d’s face and meet with Him in the secret place. He will reveal what you must do with the spiritual battle that has just unfolded. Every believer needs to be on their face asking G-d what they are to do.

Throughout history and into the modern-day, Israel faced all sorts of threats of war and adversity. They were struck with catastrophe, hardship, and much affliction. We have to trust G-d like Gideon did and believe that we are protected.

If you have been taught to view challenges as opportunities, then you will have the confidence to move forward in difficult times. If that has not happened, you will struggle to learn how to trust G-d.

Gideon was appointed to be a prophet. Gideon was unsure of the task, and he needed a sign from G-d!

Judges 6:17, Gid’on replied, “If indeed you favor me, would you mind giving me a sign that it is really you talking with me?”

Has G-d given you a sign for your appointment? Do you know what it is?

Many of us will hide from G-d if we do not have a definite answer or clarification. When G-d is our Source, then we will not have to suppress and hide from Him.

G-d knows that people will not stand if G-d determines otherwise. Whatever talent, ability, or gifting G-d gave you; it is just enough for G-d to use. I only have to think to stand up from where I am hiding and come into the open and declare my position alongside G-d.

Gideon was appointed by G-d to be a prophet!

Are you ready to answer the appointment that  G-d has on your life?

Gideon answers the call and deals with the pagan altars on his family line. Gideon was not involved in this practice, but his family was, and G-d wanted the idol his father built destroyed.

The Israelites were under the judgment of G-d for Baal worship. In turn, G-d sent the Midianites to oppress the Israelites. Every year at harvest time, the Midianites would come and steal their crops and take everything from them. They were very short on food.

Gideon’s father was one of the keepers of the Baal altars. He built a shrine to Ba’al and Asherah. The whole city worships Ba’al. G-d appointed Gideon to go to these altars and destroy them. He said to Gideon: “If you deal with Ba’al, I’ll deal with the Midianites.”

Judges 6:26,28 “and build a proper altar to Adonai your G-d on top of this strong-point. Then take the second bull; and offer it as a burnt offering, using the wood of the sacred pole you cut down. When the men of the city got up the next morning, there was the altar of Ba‘al destroyed, the sacred pole cut down, and the second bull a burnt offering on the newly built altar.”

Where is Baal prominent in our country? Has G-d appointed you to take it down?

Gideon gathers together an appointed army of G-d. G-d diminished the army’s size so that they could not boast of their conquest. He reduced the numbers from 33,000 to 300. This is one soldier for every 447 Midianites. G-d knows that Gideon needs to be stretched. He needs to be aware that he is not extraordinary in and of himself, but appointed by G-d and G-d is with him.

This describes an appointed man and an appointed army of G-d. It’s not just Gideon. G-d also appointed three hundred soldiers! Somehow they were so inspired by the leadership, integrity, and values of one appointed man – Gideon, that they were prepared to take on that kind of battle.

Do not be afraid of the size of your opposition. You are “just enough” so that together with G-d, you can become appointed and extraordinary.

Gideon listens to G-d. He didn’t appoint himself. How many people in various ministries are listening to what G-d is saying, and then doing what He has told them? Do these people listen or just rush in and do what they “feel” led? Are you doing the same thing? Do you wait before Adonai and press in? Do you wait for direction each step of the way, so that your course of action is in perfect alignment with the will of G-d?

Gideon follows the appointed battle of G-d, in plan and in strategy. Importantly, the focus remains on the will of G-d. It is all about G-d.

Judges 7:16-18, He divided the three hundred men into three companies. He put in the hands of all of them shofars and empty pitchers with torches in them. Then he said to them, “Watch me, and do what I do. When I get to the edge of the camp, whatever I do, you do the same. When I and everyone with me blow the shofar, then you blow your shofars all around the whole camp, and shout, “For Adonai and for Gid‘on!”

Gideon worships G-d. Once the victory has been won, he will collect the gold and makes a ritual vest – a symbol of the Victory of G-d. We need to reflect our victories to G-d.

Is G-d is calling you to be the Prophet? The enemy must be confronted and removed from our land. Where is the Baal that G-d is asking you to take down?

G-d needs to be proclaimed on the mountaintops. His power and might reigns over every problem and situation that is happening right now. He knows what is going on. G-d says : “I am with you”

Judges 6:16, Adonai said to him, “Because I will be with you, you will strike down Midyan as easily as if they were just one man.”

Prayer:

Father, I lay prostrate and on my face before You, in this tumultuous time. I will be in obedience to Your Word in every way. Reveal to me what I am appointed to do during this time. You created me for this time. Remove all fear, anxiety, or passivity from me, in Yahshua’s name.

I resist and rebuke the devourer who has swallowed up my passion and has made me passive to Your calling on my life. I place my health, provision, business, ministry, and family in your care. Agents of darkness that have twisted my mind to believe the lies of the enemy will no longer dominate my thoughts. I trample them underfoot. I refuse to believe that I will never be successful in my life, because you ordained specific appointments for me that were established since my birth and I choose to walk in them.

I now declare, that the bondage of fear and passivity will be broken off myself. Let me hear Your voice and Your Word again, in Yahshua’s name!

Father, will You break the confusion off of me and allow me to begin to see clearly and understand who You are and how much you love me. Break all confusion off of me, in Yahshua’s name!!

What has been stolen, Father, will You restore!! Restore hearts, repair emotions, restore my family!

I take the very things that have oppressed me, and I offer them as a sacrifice to You – Take them, Father, and turn them around and bring about our deliverance! Break the power of Midian off of me!! Just as with Gideon, Father, You worked through a small army of only 300, showing that it is not by high numbers that You prevail; it’s by obedience and faith! I offer You my weakness, fears, unbelief, and my confusion. Father, I give my entire life to You. Take my life and mold it into what You want for me. Give me the power and strength to walk in the calling you set for me. My eyes are set on You and You only. You are my rock in troubled times! Amen
