We often look at the circumstances surrounding us and become disheartened. Have we forgotten to have faith in the Truth? Are we, instead, joining in with the “nay-sayers?”
- Are we speaking fear, doubt, and negativity in the atmosphere?
- Have we been gossiping and slandering?
- How often are we “following” social media and joining in with all the worldly conversations that are negative and critical?
- Are we following what is true, or are we just following what is perceived?
Look at the Word:
We frame our world with the words that we speak. We need to take a hard look at what is coming out of our mouth! Facebook asks us, “What’s on your mind?” What is on our minds? Is it anything good and lovely, or are we wrought with worry? If we can focus on the eternal, universal thoughts of G-d, we will begin to see the world differently.
In our present-day, texting has made it easier to gossip, slander, and be more disrespectful. Blogging can be an excellent tool for educating, but if you remember, it was initially designed to “post” details of our personal life and how we feel, etc. Let us start talking about what G-d says and not what we feel, so we can see the atmosphere around us begin to change.
Eliyahu (Elijah) still pursued his mission in the midst of famine and drought. He did not wait till circumstances got better. He had to speak truth in the face of the negative facts.
Most conversations center around what is happening with the political climate and what’s the latest news. The news just likes to jump from one drama to another. There are a lot of false stories and whipped up narratives. The media’s gossip is damaging. Rarely is it positive? Yet, it’s easy to join in on the grumbling. It’s easy just to join the crowd. Do you want to fill your mind with this type of negativity? Are slander and gossip what we want to see?
Faith has the power to change things!!
If you and I can start speaking truth into our atmosphere instead of the perceived facts, we will begin to see things differently.
Faith comes before the facts. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of G-d. It does not come by hearing the latest postings on Facebook, newspapers, or TV news. We are called to walk by faith and not by (natural) sight. Many of us are not seeing the promises of G-d in our lives because we are moved by the media’s gossip and not by faith.
If you only walk by (natural) sight and not by faith, you will only do the predictable and what is seen by the senses. You will never step into the unpredictable – the faith realm or the unseen realm.
How did you walk in the past year? Did you walk full of fear, doubt, and unbelief?
Did you walk through your day with your natural eyes and not your spiritual eyes?
You will never be able to walk in this world with spiritual eyes if you don’t feed your faith. Without faith, you are just walking in the natural. Without faith it is impossible to please G-d.
You have to continuously stir up the gift of faith!!
How do I develop my faith? Do I become a superhero for Yahshua? No. Faith is not based on performance, but from belief. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of G-d!!
So switch off some of the stuff you are listening to. Stop following some of the people that you are following. Yahshua said to “Follow Me!” Amplify the Word of G-d in your life! Elevate the importance of the Word, not people, billboards, or slogans. Psalm 119:105, “Your word is a lamp for my foot and light on my path.”
- The prophet Elijah declared it would rain in the middle of the famine, and drought.
- You don’t have to feel rain to know that rain is coming
- You don’t have to see a cloud to “see” that it is coming
If you have ears to hear, you will know it is coming before it even gets here. You will live ready for the rain to come before it ever gets here.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of G-d. Has the enemy assaulted our hearing? Has the world made us deaf? Are we listening to everything else but the Word of the Living G-d?
I don’t have time to read my Bible.
We have more access to the Word of G-d then ever before in history. We can get it in book form or as an app. We can get it in any language and format. But, we are not hungry for it. We need a generation that is hungry and passionate for the Word.
We need a nation of faith. This is a fight of faith! Agents of darkness are after your faith! Don’t fight with others. It is only a distraction. There’s only one fight worth fighting for, and that is your faith!
The enemy is not after your stuff; he is after your faith. We have too many unbelieving “believers.” We are not trusting that G-d will do what He says He will do. We are selling out for carnality and temporal pleasures because we do not believe in the eternal process. We are looking for short term worldly gain instead of keeping an eternal perspective and daring to trust G-d by taking steps of faith.
What is Your Confession? What Words Do You Speak Forth?
You will frame your world by the words you speak. Decide to eliminate the things poisoning your mind and start declaring what is right. We have such a corrupt misrepresentation and perspective of who we are and our position in the world. We have been listening to the enemy too long. We have learned to believe the lie .. (Rom 12:2)
If you don’t know what G-d says, you will believe what the enemy says every time. Start declaring it and confessing His Word out loud. If you don’t do this and arm yourself with the armor of the Word, you will believe what the world says about you, and you will focus on the worldly things.
The world says I am not:
- Smart enough
- Rich enough
- Talented enough
- Pretty enough
- Handsome enough
- Qualified enough
- Strong enough
The world will keep telling you what you are not, and that you’ll never be enough. If you know who you are in Messiah Yahshua, you will stop this battle with your flesh and start stepping up to what G-d has for you!!
It is not about what you are not – it is about who you are through Him!! It is not about what is going on in the world; it is about G-d’s purpose for us in the world. We are His light!
Step forward to declare and decree the promises of the Word of G-d this year! G-d is looking for people who have faith – not false perception. Are you going to believe who G-d says He is? That is precisely what Eliyahu/Elijah did. He went to the king in the middle of a famine, and he repeated what G-d said. G-d was going to move and the famine would end. 1 Kings 18:41, “Then Eliyahu said to Ach’av, “Get up, eat, and drink, because I hear the sound of heavy rain.”
Shalom,
Eliyahu Praise
